Each of us has an interesting story about meeting books’ mysterious world. First I’d like to sketch out about how my relation with books started.

Don’t get deceived this book passion of mine. Until the age of 15, I never truly read a book. My mother was and still is a true bookworm but me, I never was that kind of girl. Because when I was in primary and in middle school reading book was a must and I did and still do hate obligations. So I denied reading book. But I read anything even album booklets but no books. In the first year of high school we had a book reading homework so teachers gave a list for this homework. As I mentioned I hate about the concept of not being free about our choices about our hobbies and etc.

On a weekend that we went a shopping mall as a family, I went into a bookstore with that list but I was decisive about the idea that “if I don’t like it, I won’t buy it”.

No surprise I didn’t like the content of any books in that given list. I started to wander between the shelves. A book blinked to me from a shelf. I reached and took it. I couldn’t know that, this book will be the book that will change my story with books.

“One day you will wake up and there won’t be any more time to do the things you’ve always wanted. Do it now.” – Paulo Coelho / The Alchemist

Yes that book was Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist. I bought it and during my family was shopping I sat on a bank in the middle of the mall and finished the book. But it wasn’t enough so I read it again that day. I now know that it is a though book for a beginner. And that day I understood that I love these kind of books and novels. It was mysterious, it was shocking, it was educating and it was philosophical.

That day my adventure with books started. Coelho became my favorite writer. I was like Bella turning vampire in Twilight, she was hungry for blood and I was hungry for books.  I read all the books written by Coelho by that time.

But from my childhood I always loved bookstores. I was sure that there was more appealing stories rather than what we need to read as homeworks. That smell and that atmosphere were proofs of it. Everyone has a time to meet the things that will change their time and destiny, mine was that day in shopping mall.

And we as bookworms love to be in crowds in a silent corner where we can dive deep into that story in our hands.
